 Registration Fee and Payment

Registration is required for all attendees and accompanying persons. Registration badges must be worn in order to participate in technical sessions and other meeting activities. Registration for ACOUSTICS 2012 HONG KONG is available online until 13 April 2012 (a month before the start of the convention), or on-site during the convention. On-site registration will be available but advance online registration is highly recommended. The on-site registration desk will open on Sunday, 13 May 2012 (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), and on 14-16 May 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. located on the Ground Floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The registration desk will be relocated to the Convention Foyer of Level 1 on 17-18 May 2012 and will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Cash in USD / HKD, Visa and, MasterCard and American Express Credit cards will be accepted for payment of on site registration. Meeting attendees who have pre-registered may pick up their badges and registration materials at the registration desk.
* Active students or young investigators who obtained their Diploma (Bachelor, Master, PhD) less than a year ago.
 
Registration fees for Delegate and Students include:
  1. Attendance at any technical session including poster sessions;
  2. Printed booklet containing Abstracts of all papers and Exhibitor Directory;
  3. Proceedings of the Convention on a CD-ROM;
  4. Attendance at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and associated receptions;
  5. Attendance at the Exhibition and at the Exhibitors’ Reception;
  6. Daily service of coffee and tea;
Note - Students must show their valid student ID when registering at the on-site registration desk for the Convention for verification.
 
Registration fee of Accompanying Persons includes:
  1. Attendance at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and at the associated receptions;
  2. Attendance at the Exhibition and at the Exhibitors' .
  3. Daily service of coffee, tea and cold beverage;
 
Payment method
 
Only credit cards issued by VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMERICAN EXPRESS are acceptable for online payment of registration fees. If another method of payment is preferred, please contact the Conference Secretary for guidance. If payment is to be made by bank wire transfer or similar means, the registrant is required to pay the wire-transfer fee. All payments of registration fees must be in USD and all currency conversion fees, if any, shall be paid by the registrants. Payments by check cannot be accepted.
 
Cancellation & refund
 
Cancellation policy: A handling fee of 20% will be charged for cancellations received before 15 February 2012. No refunds of registration fees will be made for a cancellation received on or after 15 February 2012. Abstracts and papers of cancelled corresponding authors will not be published or scheduled for presentation.
 
Refund policy: Refunds of registration fees will be made within a month commencing 15 December 2011 to corresponding authors whose abstracts have not been accepted by the Technical Program Organizing Committee for presentation at ACOUSTICS 2012 HONG KONG.
Other refunds in the currency of the country of the registrant will be paid within a month after the close of the Convention and will be subject to the currency-conversion rate that is prevailing at the time the refund is issued. Refunds will be issued as credit-card refunds to the same credit card as was used to pay the registration fee. Refunds by bank wire transfer will be subject to the applicable currency-conversion charge as well as the 20% handling fee and a bank wire-transfer fee.
